Beginner Adult Swim Programs
Adult swim lessons are intended for adults and older teens to learn essential swimming and water safety skills. These classes are taught by our certified Water Safety Instructors and follow the American Red Cross Swimming & Water Safety program.
Adult Beginner lessons are intended for participants who are comfortable in the water but wish to learn basic skills such as floating, treading water, and coordination for swimming strokes. Lessons will primarily be taught in shallow water, but participants will practice supporting themselves in deeper water throughout the class.
Intermediate Adult Swim Programs
Adult Intermediate lessons are intended for adults with basic swimming skills to begin learning and improving strokes and techniques. Participants should be comfortable supporting themself in deep water before participating in this class. This program is cross-listed with the TEDU 322 class through the Recreation & Wellness minor.
Fitness Swimming
This class is for swimmers who are looking for a structured workout. The Swimming for Fitness program is designed to help swimmers improve fitness and/or train for specific goals. These classes are led by experienced instructors aiming to meet individual swimmers’ needs. Participants should know three competitive strokes: backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle and be able to swim a minimum of 50 yards of both freestyle and backstroke before enrolling.
Refund Policy:
Refunds for swim classes must be requested at least five (5) days prior to the registration deadline shown above. A participant may request to transfer their registration to a subsequent program offering within the same registration period. Once a transfer has been approved, no further refunds, credits, or transfers will be approved for the same purchase. No refunds or credits will be provided for missed lessons.
