Climbing Wall Rendering

The Cary Street Gym Climbing wall will be closed from May 6th - August 16th for renovation.

The Cary Street Gym Climbing Wall renovation project was approved in Fall of 2019 but was delayed due to Covid restrictions. The current climbing wall has several maintenance issues that require renovation work. Additionally, the climbing wall serves over 7,000 people per year and is not able to meet the demand for this activity.

The new climbing facility will double the current climbing space while staying within the same footprint. The new climbing wall will feature 18 top ropes, 18 lead climbing lanes, and a rappel ledge. The tallest section of the wall will be 49.5 feet tall (10 ft taller than the current wall). Construction will be occurring from May 13th until early Fall 2024. From May 13th until mid August, fitness floor space next to the climbing wall area will be closed for contractor staging. This area will be roped off and inaccessible to participants at this time. We have relocated some of the equipment, but many items will be offline until the space reopens in August.
