VCU RecWell is proud to offer American Red Cross first aid, CPR, and AED training to our students, members, and community. The American Red Cross is a nationally recognized provider of first aid and CPR/AED training and offers a variety of courses for responders at all levels. These classes also meet most requirements for workplace first aid & CPR training in non-healthcare settings.
We offer adult & pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED training using a blended learning format. All classes include a combination of online and in-person instruction. In-person sessions will include hands-on practice for applicable skills as well as peer-to-peer feedback and learning exercises.
Instructor-level classes are offered annually and allow individuals with an eligible certificate to become an instructor. Instructors within the Red Cross are eligible to teach classes within their specialty field and may bridge to teach classes in other specialty areas.
We also offer these classes in a private format. If your group or organization would like to request a private training class, please contact aquatics@vcu.edu for more information.
